Duplicate Image Finder

Find duplicate and near-duplicate photos, even renamed, resized or rotated copies, then download only the images you keep. Runs in your browser.

How to use Duplicate Image Finder

  1. Add your images, or a whole folder.
  2. Review each group of similar images; the best copy is marked Keep.
  3. Remove the duplicates you do not need, or mark a false match as Not a duplicate.
  4. Download the images you keep as a ZIP or as separate files.

About Duplicate Image Finder

Duplicate Image Finder groups photos that look the same, so you can clear out copies before you share, back up or upload a collection. It compares what each image looks like rather than its name, so renamed files, resized or re-saved copies, different formats and copies rotated by 90, 180 or 270 degrees are found too.

In each group the largest, best-quality copy is marked Keep. Remove the others one by one, per group or all at once, choose a different copy to keep, or mark a false match as not a duplicate. Removed images can be restored at any time, and you can rotate images before you download.

Add up to 150 MB of images at a time. Everything runs in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded, and the files on your device are never changed.

Frequently asked questions

Does it delete files from my computer?

No. The tool can't change files on your device. Removing an image only takes it out of the download, and you download the images you keep as a ZIP or as separate files.

What does Match strictness do?

It sets how similar two images must be to count as duplicates. Low values find only near-identical copies; higher values also find edited versions but can group different photos with plain backgrounds, so check the preview.

Why was a file skipped?

The browser could not open it. This happens with some HEIC and TIFF files, damaged files and images over 120 megapixels. The Skipped files list shows the reason.

Is Duplicate Image Finder free to use?

Yes, Duplicate Image Finder is completely free with no usage limits, no watermarks and no sign-up required.

Do I need to install software or create an account?

No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser — there is nothing to download and no account to create.
